Summer is here and that only means that your summer vacation will start soon as well. We at Holiday Isle are excited that you and your family have made the decision to spend a week or two here with us. With the start of summer, it only means that the summer fun events will be here sooner than you think. We have several different fun events that we had to share with you as it’s the best part of vacationing here besides the sun and sand fun.
Throwback Thursdays
Every Thursday from now until August 15th, come down to HarborWalk Village for Throwback Thursdays. Come and enjoy some favorite tribute bands as they take you back to the good old days at 7:00 pm. Before the main event be sure to come at 6:30 pm as you will be able to see a Vintage Flyover to help get you in the mood. After the concert is where you will see the fireworks show over the Destin Harbor around 9:00 pm. What a fun event that your family can enjoy helping kickoff your summer vacation!
Concerts in the Village
For our guests who love to listen to live music, then these next events are perfect for you. Come and enjoy a few concerts in the village and no we’re not talking about the village people. The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation are having family-friendly concerts every Thursday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost to attend is $15 per person and children 12 & under are free. Purchase your tickets today to help jump start your vacation. Let’s look at the lineup below to see a few that your family can attend.
June 20th: Monsters of Yacht
A rock tribute band that will have everyone dancing to songs from the 70’s & 80’s.
June 27th: The Maxx “We Were Funky”
This is a group that is back by popular demand as they break out with eclectic sound with Oldies and Today’s Pop Music! Don’t miss this fun and exciting evening as a family!
September 12th: Rust & Gold
If you love listening to Neil Young & Crazy House tunes, then come out and listen to the music as they recreate songs done by Neil Young.
9th Annual Smoke on the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival
Do you and your family like BBQ and Fireworks? If the answer is yes, then this is the festival for you. The Smoke on the Coast BBQ & Fireworks Festival will be happening at the Destin Commons. Here your family will be able to join in the fun as the they raise money to help benefit local charities. Beginning on July 3rd at 5:00 pm your family will be able to come and enjoy some fun entertainment and live music. Around 5:30 pm you can come enjoy $1 BBQ Samples from 18 different restaurants in the area and BBQ groups. Then you can cast your vote on who had the best around town. And to end the night, don’t miss the Fireworks display as they put on a show like you’ve never seen at 9:30 pm. What a great event to attend for a wonderful cause!
Red, White and Baytowne Fireworks
Join in on the 4th of July for the Red, White & Baytowne celebration at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. Beginning at 6:00 pm is where your family can enjoy inflatables, crafts for the kids, lawn games and face painting. Around 7:00 pm is when your family can enjoy live music from Donovan Keith over on the Events Plaza Stage. To end a great night will be our Fourth of July Fireworks show at 9:15 pm. Don’t miss this fun event as a family to celebrate our Country!
