October is here, which means it’s the spooky season on the Emerald Coast! There is plenty to celebrate different Halloween events along the coast every year. Destin Fishing Rodeo

Did someone say rodeo and fishing all in the same sentence? Yes, we did, and we are excited to say that the Destin Fishing Rodeo has returned. Join in the 73rd Annual Destin Fishing Rodeo that is taking place from October 1st through the 31st, 2022. The event will begin at 10:00 am and end at 7:00 pm each day and will be on the docks behind AJ’s Seafood & Oyster House. There are even events the kids can take place in, making this event fun for the whole family!

Gulfarium’s 3rd Annual Croctoberfest

If you’re looking for something a little different to celebrate this year, head to Gulfarium to help celebrate their 3rd annual Croctoberfest. This year it will be held on October 15th & 16th, 2022, and it’s something you’ve never been to before. At the croctoberfest, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Magnolia, their albino alligator, which is cool. You can do other things this year: hold an alligator, learn about their feeding schedules, and learn a little more about crocodiles. There will even be items created by our special guests available for purchase. For the adults, if you’re looking to celebrate with a drink or two, you’re in luck. Purchase a wristband during your visit, where you’ll be able to sample craft brews from local breweries. A portion of all proceeds from this event will be donated towards their crocodilian conservation.

McGuire’s Halloween Run

One of the best things about vacationing on the Emerald Coast during October is participating in a fun run. On Saturday, October 29th, beginning at 9:00 am, over at McGuire’s of Destin. There will be a post-race party and refreshments for participants, including live entertainment for everyone to enjoy. This is fun for the whole family to enjoy and get out and run a little before indulging in that Halloween candy. Don’t forget to register today to get in on this event.

27th Annual Festival of Arts

Another great event you can visit while you’re on vacation this October is the 17th Annual Festival of Arts. This year it is being held at the Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation at 4323 Commons Drive West in Destin. On Saturday, October 29th, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and Sunday, October 30th, from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Here you’ll be able to check out over 100 fine artists, snack at one of the many food trucks, and listen to some live music. Admission to this event is free for all, while food, drinks, and more will be sold. Don’t miss this year and celebrate the music, art, food, and fun this Halloween season with the family!

What’s Happening In Destin This Fall

Fishing on the Okaloosa Island Fishing Pier is a must-do every vacation for many families. If you’ve never fished a day in your life, we promise that fishing off the pier here on the island is well worth it. There is no need to bring your fishing gear as you can just rent it right there on the dock, and don’t worry about that license either. With your daily fishing pass, you will receive a daily fishing license. There is something for everyone, from watching your kids reel in their first catch to sitting back and enjoying your time on the pier.

Wild Willy’s Adventure Zone

Plus, they have a Ptero Jump where you can do flips on a trampoline and feel like you’re a Pterosaur. This event will be happening at the Harborwalk Village, and it’s where you can have a fun meet & greet with the star of the event, the Easter Bunny. A few other fun things that will be taking place on Easter here will be loads of activities for the kids to enjoy and even go on a golden egg hunt. After the event is over, why not do a little shopping and grab a quick bite to eat.
